Project Name

Torgersen Hall
  • This project is to design and construct a facility to house research and teaching programs in communications and information technology. The facility will be jointly funded through private, federal and state sources. The Center will bring together programs in Communications Technology (fiber- and electro-optics, wireless communications, and commercial space communications), Information Technologies (human-computer interaction, parallel computation labs, scientific visual analysis, and a digital libraries testbed), Instruction Technologies (multi-media lab and learning resources center), and Community Outreach (Blacksburg Electronic Village, public school partnerships, and business/industry technical assistance and training).


Status

  • Building was dedicated on October 6, 2000.
