Project Name

Hampton Roads Wing Replacement
  • This existing Hampton Roads Agricultural Research and Extension Center (AREC) offices and laboratories are currently housed in one building of which 8,000 square feet was constructed in 1928 and the remainder in 1950. During recent renovations, the older portion of the existing building was identified as having structural defects and being unsafe for occupancy. The project proposes replacement of the 8,000 square foot portion of the facility that supports Horticulture and related disciplines (Entomology, Plant Pathology, Physiology and Weed Science, and Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences) in the Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station and Virginia Cooperative Extension.
